PHILLY BABY BUMP EXCLUSIVE INTERVIEW WITH GINA MARIE, OWNER:

GINA MARIE MAKJA

Q. What inspired you to become a photographer?
A. Ever since I was a little girl, I loved taking pictures. My parents would be astonished that I would use up entire rolls of film taking pictures of the sky. They realized my passion and bought me my first Nikon. That developed me into a really good landscape and nature photographer. I later realized that I loved taking pictures of people.  I then made the transition to taking photos of weddings, families, and babies while still incorporating the beauty of natural light environments.

Q. Can you tell us more about the services you offer?

Gina Marie PhotographyMaternity:

You should start looking for your maternity photographer as soon as you pass your first trimester as they are often booked far in advance.  We find our clients feel the most beautiful around 5-7 months pregnant and thus prefer that time period to have maternity photos taken.

Gina Marie PhotographyDelivery Day:

This is offered as an alternative to a Birth photo session. Delivery Day is a one-hour session within the first 24 hours of birth. It’s a lovely choice as you get that birth facility and newness feel without the added expense of birth photography.

These are my personal favorite! I like to photograph babies within the first 10 days after birth as it is amazing just how much a newborn changes in the first month.  Once you have confirmed a due date, we will schedule a session within a week of that due date.

Baby: Photo sessions of various milestones of your little one during their first year of life.

Family:

Gina Marie PhotographyCoordinating is key! Be sure to avoid solid white or black in your outfit selections.  Go with all warm tones or all cool tones. Avoid crazy, busy, or tiny patterns as they do not photograph well. Get to sleep, look natural (no fancy make-up or outfits).  After all, remembering life as it is at this time is the goal! Your family will look great together!
