Everybody in the pool – and that means baby too! Goldfish Swim School has two Philadelphia-area locations, Fort Washington and Mount Laurel, and offers swim classes for children starting as early as 4 months of age.

The Mini Classes (for children between 4 and 35 months, along with a parent) offer top-quality swim lessons coupled with:

  • Shiver-free 90-degree pools
  • A 6:1 student/teacher ratio
  • Private changing rooms, some large enough to accommodate baby strollers
  • Clean, inviting and warm facilities changing tables and complimentary diapers

Mini class activities include singing group songs, practicing tummy time, and getting little ones comfortable in the water. Babies practice their grasp reflex, move on to holding onto the wall and eventually inching their way down it. With the help of mom or dad, babies work on their pulling paddle, “Superman” glides, sea otter floats and kicks. As babies progress through the Mini Program, they will work on crab walking, getting out of the pool safely by climbing up using the “elbow, elbow, tummy, knee” technique and breath control.

Meg Kevane, the owner of Goldfish Swim School Fort Washington and Mount Laurel locations says,

“I have seen the benefits of Mini Classes with my own babies and I know that the time together in the pool has many advantages for baby AND mom or dad.”

In addition to weekly Mini Classes, Goldfish offers family swim several times a week so parents can spend time together in the water with baby practicing the water acclimation skills they learned in class.
